Veronica Paraaso is a Filipino TV presenter and journalist. She is known for her work in television, radio, print, community and literary circles.
Paraaso had a stint as the talk show host of PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) from August 2007 to December 2008. She also hosted PEP’s primetime variety show, “Miss International Philippines 2012.” She was appointed as a panelist of the second season of Pinoy Big Brother Niners at its fourth year on May 28, 2011.
Paraaso has also been involved in various print work such as being the editor-in-chief of Manila Bulletin magazine from October 2010 to May 2012; being the arts editor of Philippine Daily Inquirer from July 2011 to July 2012; being a columnist for Rappler since September 2013; and contributing to local media such as ABS-CBN News Channel (BNM), SBS Primetime Television (SSTV), TV5 (formerly DZMM) and GMA News TV (GMA).
Paraaso is also the executive producer and host of one of the most watched morning talk shows in the Philippines “The Startling” aired by GMA Network since 2009 until 2013 when she terminated her contract due to health reasons.

Veronica Paraaso, who was born in 1939 in Colombia and is an American actress.
Born Veronica Paraaso García, she was the daughter of a Colombian mother and a German father. She grew up in New Jersey, graduating from the School of Performing Arts at Rutgers University. She graduated in 1964 with a degree in Theatre Studies.
After her studies, she began her career as an actress for television, later going on to appear in popular films such as Bye Bye Birdie (1963), The Parent Trap (1963), and The Flight of the Dragon King (1975).
Paraaso has also worked as an actress with several theater companies. She appeared on Broadway from 1964 to 1965 and created the role of Julie Westlake for the original London production of West Side Story (1961).
She made her television debut on The Donna Reed Show (1958–1963) and later also wrote for various television shows such as The Doris Day Show (1961–1966) and The Steve Allen Show (1965–1971).
In 2001, Paraasso starred in the film A Stranger Visits, which reunited her with husband Henry Fonda.
In 2007, Paraasso performed at Ford’s Theatre after being selected to perform by actor Robert Redford during his lecture tour sponsored by Ford Motor Company at their Detroit headquarters. In 2008, Paraasso starred opposite Johnny Depp in Little Manhattan: A New Musical based on the play by John Steinbeck first performed at New York’s Public Theater in 1977; it opened Off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons with performances from January 10 through April 24, 2008. It was directed by Scott Ellis and produced by James Dinsmore under Dinsmore Entertainment Group/Orange Street Productions/Broadway Video Productions.
Paraaso played Katherine Harris in Denzel Washington’s film Training Day (2001). She also received positive reviews for her role as Leslie “Betsy” Williams on NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2001–2014) . In 2004, she appeared with another famous Hollywood couple Ricky Martin and Penelope Cruz in “” (“Volveré”), a Spanish romantic comedy directed by Alejandro Amenábar that centers on two young lovers who meet online but must face each other when they arrive back home after a year apart.”
Paraaso often stars alongside actors like Steven Spielberg or Tom Hanks.

Nowadays, celebrities are making a trend of posting pictures and videos on Instagram, but their life before the app wasn’t always so glamorous. The Brazilian social media queen Veronica Paraaso has had a little trouble in her post-Instagram life.
She was once married to Adrian Lopes with whom she shares two children, Felix and Beatriz. In an interview with Antena 1, Veronica said that during the marriage she was a very busy lady.
“I think it’s important to do something you love as a career to pay for your children’s education,” she said. “It’s hard financially to do what I love.”
The 47-year-old is now divorced and hasn’t been back in contact with Adrian since they broke up in October 2015, but it seems she still makes time for her family even though they aren’t close anymore. She’s also been spotted at the beach with her son.

She was appointed by President George W Bush to serve on his presidential commission on Latin America and served as a member of his Cabinet from 2005 to 2007.
Paraaso was appointed by Obama to serve on his Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations, serving until 2013.
